Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups white sugar, divided
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary items for the recipe.
2
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius). Next, lightly coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray to prevent the bread from sticking.
3
In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside for later use.
4
In a large mixing bowl, blend together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, the remaining 1/3 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
5
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 3/4 cup of milk, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
6
Divide the batter evenly between two bowls. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into a prepared loaf pan, followed by half of the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat this process with the remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
7
Using a knife, gently swirl the two mixtures together to create a marbled effect.
8
Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean, taking 45 to 50 minutes.
9
Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Wrap the cooled loaf in foil and allow it to sit at room temperature overnight before slicing.
10
Finally, slice the bread and serve.
