  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

First, heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Sift the flour, 1 and a half teaspoons of cinnamon, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set the mixture aside for later use.

In another bowl, combine 2/3 cup of sugar and butter using a mixing motion. Then add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla to create a smooth mixture.

Mix in the flour mixture you prepared earlier. Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll each piece into a log shape, approximately 9 inches long and 1 and a half inches wide.

Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet, flattening them slightly. Brush the tops with a beaten egg for extra flavor.
