Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese Dumplings
Ingredients
  • oil for frying
  • 1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 9 tablespoons white sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1/4 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers, at room temperature
Instructions
1
Preheat the deep-fryer or large saucepan to a high temperature of 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2
Combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon in a mixing bowl until they are thoroughly incorporated. Place the desired amount of the filling mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper.
3
Fold the wonton in a triangular shape and seal two adjacent edges together using water as an adhesive; apply gentle pressure to compress the sides and eliminate any air pockets. \nDampen the edges of the wonton triangle, then fold it inward to enclose the filling. Repeat this process for each wonton wrapper.
4
Carefully place the filled wontons into the hot oil; cook until they turn a golden brown color on one side, approximately 2 minutes. \nFlip the wontons over and cook until they are golden brown on the other side, around 2 minutes.
5
Combine ground cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle the desired amount of this mixture over the fried wontons.
