  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cinnamon red hot candies
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat your oven to the optimal temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).

Next, lightly coat an 8-inch square baking pan with a thin layer of cooking spray to prevent the apples from sticking.

Carefully set aside the apple tops and then remove all but the bottom half inch of the core. Arrange these apple pieces in a single layer within the baking dish.

In a small, portable container, combine brown sugar, crushed Red Hot candies, and additional cinnamon.

Fill each apple with the mixture, then carefully place the reserved apple tops back onto them. Finally, sprinkle any remaining mixture over the apples.
