Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/3 cups white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pitted dates
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1
Combine the soft and creamy butter with granulated sugar in a spacious bowl until it reaches a light and airy texture. Gradually incorporate eggs into the mixture, ensuring each egg is well incorporated before adding the next. Mix dry ingredients such as flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves together in a separate bowl before gradually merging them into the butter-sugar mixture. Combine water with chopped dates to create a liquid component; then, incorporate this mixture into the dough along with chopped pecans. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
2
Heat your oven to a moderate temperature of 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare baking sheets by applying a thin layer of grease. Scoop the dough into rounded portions and place them onto the prepared baking sheets.
3
Bake the cookies in a preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to continue cooling completely.
