Cinnamon-Baked Apples with Brown Sugar and Butter
Ingredients
  • 4 tart green apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ΒΌ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary ingredients and heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
Utilize a specialized kitchen tool, such as an apple corer or melon baller, to carefully remove the central portion of each apple, leaving approximately 1.5 inches at the bottom intact.
3
Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl until they are thoroughly blended. Fill each apple with 2 tablespoons of the sugar mixture.
4
Arrange the apples in an 8-inch square baking dish. Place a small amount of butter on top of each apple and pour enough boiling water to cover the bottom of the dish by about 1/4 inch. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
5
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue to bake, uncovered, until the sugar starts to turn golden brown and the apples are tender when pierced with a paring knife, taking an additional 20 to 25 minutes.
6
Serve the warm apples and indulge in the delightful experience!
