Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 3 apples - peeled, cored and shredded
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, or 165 degrees Celsius. Next, lubricate a 9-inch Bundt mold or two loaf pans with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2
In a large mixing container, blend the sugar and vegetable oil until well combined. Then, incorporate the eggs into the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy, followed by adding the honey and vanilla extract. Mix in the dry ingredients – flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice – until they are just incorporated into the batter.
3
Mix in the chopped apples and nuts to create a delicious flavor combination. Transfer the batter into your prepared Bundt mold or loaf pans, as described in the Cook's Note.
4
Bake the cake for approximately one hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Check on it after 50 minutes to avoid overcooking.
5
Allow the cake to cool for 10-15 minutes before carefully inverting it onto a serving plate and tapping out any excess batter from the pan. You can also decorate your cake with confectioners' sugar, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a drizzle of warm honey, if desired.
