Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 5 ounces chow mein noodles
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. Next, lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent food from sticking.
2
Heat a large skillet over its highest heat setting, which is medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet for 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Add sliced onion and diced celery; cook and stir until the vegetables have slightly lost their crunch, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
3
Combine a can of condensed soup, cooked white rice, sliced almonds, water, and soy sauce in a large mixing bowl until everything is well incorporated. Stir in the cooked ground beef mixture. Pour this mixture into the prepared 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with a layer of chow mein noodles.
4
Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake until it is heated through, which should take about 20 minutes.
