Chocolate Walnut Brownies
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit or 165 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a moment to lubricate an 8x8-inch square baking dish with some cooking spray or oil, making sure to cover the entire surface.
3
In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients of flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until they're well incorporated.
4
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together sugar and butter until they reach a light and fluffy consistency.
5
Once the mixture is smooth, add in eggs one by one until you achieve a uniform batter.
6
Next, incorporate the chocolate and vanilla extract into your mixture.
7
Then, gradually add in the dry ingredients you prepared earlier. Mix just until they're fully incorporated.
8
Fold in some chopped walnuts to add texture and flavor to your final product.
9
Spread the batter evenly into your prepared square pan.
10
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake until the top is dry and the edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, taking around 40 to 45 minutes.
11
After baking, allow your cake to cool completely within the square pan. This should take about 30 minutes.
12
Finally, cut your cake into 9 equal squares and serve.
