Ingredients
- nonstick cooking spray
- 2 quarts popped popcorn
- 1 cup peanuts
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, or 120 degrees Celsius. Next, spray a 10x15-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy removal of the treats.
2
In a large metal bowl, combine popcorn and peanuts, setting them aside for now.
3
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and cocoa powder. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly, then cook for 2 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency. Stir in vanilla extract before pouring the mixture over the popcorn in the bowl. Make sure the popcorn is evenly coated with the sweet mixture.
4
Spread the popcorn mixture out onto the prepared baking pan.
5
Bake the treats in your preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring every few minutes to ensure even cooking.
6
Remove the popcorn from the oven and let it cool down completely to room temperature, allowing it to crisp up.
7
Once cooled, break the popcorn into small clumps and store them in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
