Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 3 (1 ounce) squares bittersweet chocolate (such as Baker’s®), melted
- 3 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1
Combine granulated sugar and eggs in a mixing vessel using an electric mixer until the mixture has achieved a pale yellow hue. Introduce butter and vanilla essence into the mixture, then continue to blend until these ingredients are fully incorporated. Next, incorporate melted chocolate into the mixture, stirring until it forms a smooth batter.
2
In a separate container, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Utilize a sifting motion to evenly distribute these dry ingredients throughout the container. Gradually add this mixture to the egg-based batter, stirring until it is thoroughly combined.
3
Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for preheating your pizzelle iron. This will ensure that it reaches the optimal temperature for cooking.
4
Using a spoon, drop small quantities of batter onto the preheated pizzelle iron. Allow these to cook for 30 to 45 seconds, or until they have attained a golden brown color. Remove the cooked pizzelles from the iron with care and transfer them to a cooling rack for further cooling.
