Chocolate Hazelnut Bread Pudding
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon butter, or as needed
  • 6 slices bread, or more to taste
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash salt
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/3 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the optimal temperature for baking, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. Next, take a butter knife and spread a thin layer of butter onto a pie dish, setting it aside for now.
2
Take your bread and tear it into small pieces ranging from 1 to 2 inches in size. Place these bread fragments at the bottom of your prepared pie dish, ready for the next step.
3
In a separate bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Set this mixture aside for the time being.
4
Take your bread pieces from the pie dish and add a pat of melted butter to each piece, gently tossing them together until they're evenly coated.
5
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate-hazelnut spread for 15 to 30 seconds, just until it's softened slightly. Using a spoon, drop small dollops of this spread onto the bread mixture in the pie dish, spreading them evenly to create a uniform layer. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts over the top of this spread for added texture.
6
Pour your milk-egg mixture over the bread and chocolate-hazelnut spread, making sure that every piece of bread is completely covered. Finally, slide the pie dish into your preheated oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, taking around 45 to 50 minutes.
