Chocolate Cracker Brittle
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 (8 ounce) packages thin round wheat crackers (such as Dare BretonĀ®) Original Crackers)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Cover a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil to prevent any mess.
2
Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, overlapping them slightly to resemble roof tiles.
3
Melt butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches boiling point. Continue to boil for 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
4
Pour the melted butter mixture evenly over the crackers on the baking sheet.
5
Bake the crackers in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then remove them from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
6
Allow the crackers to stand for approximately 2 minutes, or until the chocolate has melted and spread evenly. Use a spreader or kitchen knife to smooth out the chocolate.
7
If desired, sprinkle some nuts over the top of the crackers.
8
Let the treats cool completely, which should take around 1 hour. Once cooled, break them into chunks and store them in an airtight container for later.
