Ingredients
- olive oil cooking spray (such as PAMĀ®)
- 4 unsalted matzo boards, or more to taste
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
1
Acquire all the necessary components for this recipe.
2
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (that's equivalent to 190 degrees Celsius).
3
Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and give it a light spray of cooking spray; carefully place the matzo boards in a single layer, breaking them apart if required.
4
Combine softened butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat; stir constantly until the mixture reaches boiling point, then continue to boil for approximately 3 minutes.
5
Evenly distribute the butter mixture over the matzo boards on the prepared baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and immediately lower the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (that's a more moderate temperature); bake for about 10 minutes. If the matzo boards start to smoke excessively, reduce the heat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (a slightly cooler temperature); bake for an additional 5 minutes.
6
Take the baking sheet out of the oven and sprinkle the matzo boards with chocolate chips. Allow them to sit for about 5 minutes, during which time the chocolate will melt.
7
Spread the melted chocolate over the matzo boards; place them in the refrigerator until they are chilled and set. Once cooled, break the matzo into pieces.
