Ingredients
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 pinch garlic salt
- 1 pound chipped ham
- 6 hamburger buns
Instructions
1
Combine ketchup, water, relish, brown sugar, cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a large saucepan. Add a pinch of liquid smoke, a sprinkle of cinnamon, a few grinds of black pepper, and a dash of garlic salt to the mixture.
2
Heat the saucepan over low heat until the ingredients start to bubble and blend together, taking about 20 minutes.
3
Add shredded ham to the saucepan and stir it in thoroughly. If you prefer a thicker consistency, continue simmering for a few more minutes before serving the hot ham mixture on hamburger buns.
