Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15.5 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Boil a substantial container of salted water until it reaches its maximum temperature. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, occasionally stirring to prevent sticking, until it's soft but still retains a slight bite, approximately 12 minutes; drain excess water.
2
Heat a large pan over an elevated heat setting. Introduce beef, onion, and garlic into the pan; cook and stir until the beef turns a rich brown color, becoming crumbly in texture, 5 to 7 minutes. Discard the excess oil from the pan. Combine spaghetti, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, chili seasoning, and Parmesan cheese in the pan; stir to merge all ingredients. Cover the pan, lower the heat setting to a moderate level, and let it simmer until hot, around 10 minutes. Finish with Cheddar cheese.
