Chilean Flaky Bread
Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, or 230 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a baking sheet and apply a thin layer of grease to it.
3
To make the dough, combine flour, 1 cup of melted butter, milk, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix the ingredients until they start to come together in a cohesive mass.
4
Turn the dough out onto a lightly dusted surface and begin to knead it until it becomes smooth, elastic, and even.
5
Roll the dough out into a thin layer of 1/8-inch thickness. Use a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out 8-inch circles.
6
Brush each circle with the remaining 3 tablespoons of melted butter. To create the signature triangles, fold each circle in half and then fold it in half again.
7
Press the layers firmly together to seal them, and place the triangles on the prepared baking sheet.
8
Bake the pastry in your preheated oven until it's golden brown, taking around 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve warm.
