Chicken Wontons
Ingredients
  • peanut oil for frying
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pinch onion powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
  • 1 dash soy sauce, or to taste
  • 1 pinch salt, or to taste
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
Instructions
1
Heat the oil in a deep-frying vessel or an oversized saucepan to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2
Combine cream cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper in a mixing container. Add chicken to the mixture and blend until it is fully assimilated.
3
Unfold wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Place approximately 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture onto the center of each wrapper. Using one wrapper at a time, lightly wet the edges with water using your finger or a pastry brush. Fold one corner of the wrapper over the filling towards its opposite corner to form a triangular shape. Press the edges together firmly to seal.
4
Cook wontons in batches in scorching hot oil until they are lightly browned, taking 2 to 4 minutes. Transfer the cooked wontons to a paper towel-lined plate for draining excess oil
