  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, and green beans) (3 cups)
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury®)

Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.

Next, lightly coat a 9x13-inch casserole dish with a thin layer of oil or cooking spray to prevent the dish from sticking.

Melt butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until they become tender and fragrant, approximately 5 minutes.

Mix in flour, thyme, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring constantly, for just one minute.

Gradually add milk and broth to the flour mixture; cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken, taking around 3 to 5 minutes.

Mix in cooked chicken, vegetables, and chopped parsley. Remove the pot from the heat source and cover it to keep the mixture warm.

Unroll the crescent dough sheets onto a clean, flat surface. Cut each sheet into 12 equal strips, resulting in a total of 24 strips.
