- 1/2 pound sweet Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 (8 ounce) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cubes chicken bouillon
- 1 2/3 cups hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup frozen green peas
- 1 1/2 cups instant rice
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat, and pour in oil to fill it. Introduce the sausage into the skillet, stirring constantly until it's nicely browned, approximately 5 minutes. Set aside and discard excess fat.

In the same skillet, combine chicken, onion, and green pepper, stirring occasionally until they're cooked for 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, combine hot water and bouillon cubes to create a solution, allowing the cubes to fully dissolve. Add salt, thyme, and garlic powder to this mixture.

Pour the bouillon solution into the skillet with the chicken mixture. Add peas and bring the contents to a boil, then cover the skillet.

Reduce heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in rice and tomatoes, cover the skillet again, remove from heat, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
