- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 pinch caraway seeds

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat; melt it until it's fully incorporated and starts to shimmer.

Cook the cabbage in the hot butter, stirring occasionally, until it begins to lose its crunch and soften slightly, about 1-2 minutes.

Add a pinch of salt to bring out the flavors and season to taste.

Pour in water, red wine, and red wine vinegar; stir everything together until it's well combined.

Add a spoonful of sugar to balance the flavors and mix in some caraway seeds for added depth.

Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the liquid has reduced and the cabbage is tender to your liking, about 5 minutes.

If the cabbage isn't quite there yet, add a small amount of water and continue cooking for a few more minutes until it reaches the desired tenderness.
