Ingredients
- 1/2 cup strawberries - hulled, halved and sliced
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 3 large egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/4 cup dry Marsala wine

Combine the strawberries and sugar in a bowl, gently stirring them together until they're evenly coated. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for about an hour, allowing the natural juices of the strawberries to release.

Next, divide the fruit into two small, clear serving containers or stemmed glasses.

In a separate metal bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and Marsala wine. Place the bowl over a low heat source and hold it in place with a potholder to protect your hand from the heat. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and forms loose, fluffy peaks, taking around 7-8 minutes to achieve. The mixture should feel warm to the touch.

Finally, spoon the warm custard over the strawberries and serve immediately.
