Ingredients
- 1/3 cup plain bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herb seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary ingredients beforehand.
2
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly mist it with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
3
Soak the bread crumbs in milk for 20 minutes, allowing them to soften and become more pliable.
4
Concurrently, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat to initiate the cooking process.
5
Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until it has softened and turned a pale translucent color, taking approximately 5 minutes to achieve this.
6
Gradually reduce the heat to a low setting and continue cooking and stirring the onion until it has become extremely tender, requiring an additional 15 minutes of cooking time.
7
Combine the ground beef and pork in a large mixing bowl, stirring gently to avoid compacting the mixture.
8
Add the cooked onion, bread crumb mixture, eggs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, salt, black pepper, Italian herb seasoning, and red pepper flakes to the bowl.
9
Mix all the ingredients together using a rubber spatula until they are well combined and evenly distributed.
10
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid to keep the mixture fresh, then refrigerate it for approximately one hour to allow the flavors to meld.
11
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius) before proceeding with the recipe.
12
Form the mixture into small balls, approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
13
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake until the meatballs are browned and cooked through, taking 15 to 20 minutes.
14
Finally, serve the meatballs hot and enjoy your culinary creation!
