SERVINGS
1 serving

Ingredients
- 6 ounces ground beef
- 4 drops Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
- 3 pinches garlic powder
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- kosher salt to taste
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 slice Cheddar cheese
- 1 hamburger bun, split
- 1 slice tomato
- 1 leaf lettuce
Instructions
1
Divide the beef into two portions, each weighing approximately 3 ounces. Wet your fingertips with water and gently press the beef into patties, about 1/4 inch thick. Drizzle a small amount of Worcestershire sauce over the patties and gently massage it into the meat. Sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne over the top and blend them in.
2
Cut a circular piece of cheese using a pastry cutter or the edge of a glass. Place the cheese on top of one patty, then cover it with the other patty. Press the edges together carefully to form a seal. Flip the sandwich over and continue pressing until it is fully sealed on both sides. Sprinkle a light dusting of salt over the top.
3
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Place the patty on one half of a bun and top it with sliced tomato, lettuce, and the other half of the bun.
