Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
- 1 (32 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 8 ounces grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (28 ounce) jar pasta sauce
- 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
Instructions
1
Begin by heating your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, fill a large container with salted water and bring it to the boiling point. Add your pasta and cook until it reaches a perfect balance of tenderness and firmness, lasting around 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the water.
3
Simultaneously, prepare a large mixing bowl by combining ricotta cheese with half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until you achieve a smooth consistency.
4
Meanwhile, combine your pasta sauce with the sautéed mushrooms in a medium-sized bowl. Add the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until they are fully incorporated.
5
Now, fill your baking dish with the prepared shells and add a generous amount of the ricotta mixture. Pour the pasta sauce mixture over the top, ensuring that each shell is well-coated.
6
Finally, place your baking dish in the preheated oven and bake until the edges start to bubble and the shells are slightly set, taking anywhere from 35 to 60 minutes.
7
Serve your dish hot and indulge in its delicious flavors!
