Cheesy Southern-Style Potatoes
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 pound processed cheese food
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
  • 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius for those using metric measurements).
2
Next, prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by lining it with aluminum foil. This will make cleanup much easier.
3
Now, place diced potatoes and enough water to cover them in the prepared baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake it in your preheated oven for 1 hour.
4
While the potatoes are baking, combine processed cheese food and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the cheese food is fully incorporated with the melted butter.
5
Add a dry ranch-style dressing mix to the saucepan and stir in milk. The mixture should now be smooth and creamy.
6
Once the potatoes are done, pour the processed cheese food mixture over them. Return the dish to the oven and reseal it with the aluminum foil.
7
Finally, continue baking for an additional 30 minutes. The potatoes should be tender and the processed cheese food mixture should be bubbly by this point.
