Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into thin 2 inch strips
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, julienned
- 3 ounces Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise
Instructions
1
Gather all necessary components.
2
Combine salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, marjoram, and basil in a small bowl to create a unique blend of flavors.
3
Place the steak in a large container; sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the top and mix until the meat is thoroughly coated.
4
Heat half of the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add the steak and cook, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Transfer the cooked steak to a plate.
5
Heat the remaining oil in the skillet; add the sliced onion and green pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and have developed a rich caramelized flavor.
6
Preheat the oven to its broiler setting. Divide the cooked steak among four rolls, placing an equal portion on each one.
7
Layer the onion and green pepper mixture over the beef in the rolls, followed by a slice of cheese.
8
Place the rolls on a baking sheet and put them under the broiler in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted.
9
Cover the rolls with their tops and serve immediately.
