Ingredients
- 12 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 pounds processed cheese food (eg. Velveeta)
- 1 pound chopped ham
- ground black pepper to taste
- 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk

Combine diced potatoes, chopped onion, and small pieces of ham in a large cooking vessel. Pour water over the ingredients to cover them completely. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it cook until the potatoes are almost tender.

Take out approximately one cup of cooked potatoes from the pot and mash them using a fork in a separate container. Gradually add small amounts of the remaining liquid from the pot (about one tablespoon at a time) along with some flour until you achieve a smooth, thick consistency. Reintroduce this mixture back into the pot.

Add shredded or cubed cheese to the pot and let it simmer until the cheese has melted and thickened. Add ground black pepper according to your preference, then stir in milk.
