Ingredients
- 1 (.25 ounce) envelope active dry yeast
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1
Begin by placing the yeast in a small bowl and sprinkling it over the surface of lukewarm water. Allow the mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes, permitting it to dissolve completely.
2
Next, combine the flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Gradually add the yeast mixture along with olive oil to the bowl, stirring until the dough becomes stiff enough to be pulled away from the sides of the bowl. Cover the bowl and set it aside, allowing the dough to rise to twice its original size, approximately 35 minutes later.
3
Subsequently, remove the dough from the bowl and perform a brief kneading session on a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch or the size of your baking sheet. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet and spread butter evenly over its surface. Sprinkle with garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
4
Finally, allow the dough to rest while you preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Once the oven is heated, bake the dough for 20 minutes or until it reaches a golden brown color and the cheese is bubbly. Serve warm immediately.
