Cheesy Baked Ziti with Ground Beef
Ingredients
  • 1 pound dry ziti pasta
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
  • 6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Boil a substantial container of salted water until it reaches a rolling boil.
2
Add ziti pasta to the boiling water and cook until it reaches your desired level of firmness, approximately 8 minutes; drain the excess liquid.
3
Concurrently, heat ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat; blend the mixture with spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
4
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
5
Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish to prevent it from sticking.
6
Fill half of the prepared baking dish with ziti pasta; layer it with Provolone cheese, a dollop of sour cream, half of the meat sauce, remaining ziti pasta, mozzarella cheese, and finally the remaining meat sauce.
7
Finish the dish by sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese on top.
8
Bake the assembled dish in the preheated oven until it reaches a warm temperature and the cheese has melted, approximately 30 minutes.
