Cheesesteak Spring Rolls
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (12.5 ounce) package frozen sandwich steak meat
  • 1 (14 ounce) package egg roll wrappers
  • 4 slices American cheese, halved
  • 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat, adding 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan. Allow the oil to warm up before cooking and stirring the sliced onion in it until it becomes translucent, taking around 5 minutes. Introduce frozen steak pieces into the skillet and cook while stirring until the steak loses its pink color, approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set it aside for a moment.
2
Arrange 8 egg roll wrappers flat on a surface; place a half slice of cheese on each one. Create an even layer of the steak-onion mixture on top of the cheese slice, following the package's instructions for rolling up the wrappers. Make sure to seal the edges of the wrappers, wetting them with water if required.
3
Heat 1 inch of oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Fry egg rolls in batches, working with the hot oil until they turn golden brown on all sides, taking about 5 minutes. Remove them from the hot oil and drain excess water using paper towels.
4
Serve the warm egg rolls with ketchup for a delicious dipping experience
