Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 (12 ounce) package wonton wrappers
- 2 cups vegetable oil, or as needed
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet over high heat, allowing it to reach the optimal temperature. Add beef; cook and stir constantly until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Discard the excess fat that rises to the surface.
2
Next, prepare each wonton wrapper by placing a small amount of ground beef, approximately 0.25 grams, and a corresponding amount of cheese onto the center of each wrapper. Fold each wrapper into a triangle shape, ensuring the edges are sealed tightly using water as the adhesive.
3
Now, heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F), where the oil will be ready when it reaches a state of vigorous bubbling, indicated by the formation of bubbles around the end of a wooden spoon inserted into the oil.
4
Fry the wontons in hot oil until they turn golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate for draining excess oil
