Ingredients
- 1 French baguette
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 pinch ground white pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mozzarella cheese
- 1 (6 ounce) package sliced provolone cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Cut a baguette into thin, diagonal strips that are roughly half an inch thick. Arrange these slices in a single layer on a baking sheet, making sure they don't overlap.
3
Anoint both sides of each bread slice with a generous amount of olive oil.
4
Top each bread slice with slices of tomato, a sprinkle of fresh basil and oregano leaves, and a pinch of garlic powder and white pepper.
5
Add a layer of melted mozzarella and provolone cheese on top of the tomato slices.
6
Finish off your creation by adding a few more sprigs of basil, oregano, and tomato slices on top of the cheese.
7
Bake your masterpiece in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, taking anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes.
