Ingredients
- 3 large green bell peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
- 1 (14 ounce) package thinly sliced frozen Philly beef steak
- 1 large sweet onion, diced
- 1 (6 ounce) package sliced baby bella mushrooms, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning, or more to taste
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Position the bell peppers, cut-side up, on a baking sheet for even cooking.
2
Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium heat on your stovetop. Sear the steak in the skillet until it reaches a light brown color, approximately 10 minutes. Take the steak out of the skillet.
3
Add sliced onions, mushrooms, olive oil, minced garlic, and a blend of steak seasonings to the skillet. Stir constantly until both onions and mushrooms are tender, taking around 5 minutes. Reintroduce the steak to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
4
Fill each bell pepper half with the steak mixture, making sure it's evenly distributed. Place a slice of provolone cheese on top.
5
Bake the stuffed bell peppers in the preheated oven until the cheese is golden brown, taking about 15 minutes. Allow it to cool down before serving.
