Ingredients
- 2 large eggs, divided
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1 pinch onion powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a moment to prepare your baking sheet by applying a thin layer of grease to it.
3
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 egg and cheese until well combined. Add some freshness with parsley, a pinch of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to give it that extra oomph. Set the mixture aside for now.
4
On a lightly dusted surface, take each puff pastry sheet and cut it into 6 equal squares. You should end up with a total of 12 squares.
5
To create the egg wash, beat the remaining egg with a small amount of water in another bowl. Using this mixture, lightly brush the edges of each pastry square with a delicate touch.
6
Place a generous tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over the filling, making sure to seal those edges with a fork for a secure hold.
7
Transfer the pastry squares to the prepared baking sheet, brushing the tops with the remaining egg wash for a golden finish. Finally, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top to add that extra crunch.
8
Pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake until golden brown, approximately 30 minutes.
