  • 2 1/2 pounds red potatoes, cubed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon real bacon bits

Submerge potatoes in a container filled with sufficient water to completely immerse them. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, and cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until they can be easily pierced with a fork. Remove from heat and let cool down.

In a spacious mixing vessel, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar, half of the chopped onions, and half of the shredded cheese. Gradually blend in the cooled potatoes using a gentle stirring motion. Cover the dish with the remaining cheese and onions, and sprinkle crispy bacon bits on top.
