Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup finely chopped mint
- 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons coriander seeds, crushed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 2 tomato, sliced into rounds
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying, or more as needed
Instructions
1
Preheat a small skillet over high heat and spray with cooking oil to prevent sticking.
2
Heat the skillet for 2-3 minutes, then add a small amount of oil to prevent food from sticking.
3
Add the egg to the hot skillet and stir constantly until it reaches a scrambled state, taking around 3-5 minutes to achieve this.
4
In a large bowl, combine the scrambled egg with minced beef, sautéed onion, chopped fresh tomatoes, chopped cilantro, mint leaves, ginger-garlic paste, ground coriander seeds, salt, cumin powder, and a pinch of heat from the cayenne pepper.
5
Mix all the ingredients together using your hands until they are well incorporated.
6
Divide the mixture into small portions and shape each portion into a patty.
7
Take a slice of tomato and press it gently into the center of each patty.
8
In a deep skillet, heat oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
9
Add the patties in batches to the hot oil and cook until they are nicely charred, flipping them over after 4-6 minutes on the first side.
