Ingredients
- 24x8x1 inch untreated cedar plank
- 6 (4 ounce) fillets salmon
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large red onion, chopped
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/2 tablespoon black peppercorns, crushed
Instructions
1
Immerse the untreated cedar plank in water, allowing it to absorb moisture for a prolonged period of 12 hours or overnight.
2
Next, preheat your outdoor grill to extremely high temperatures. Carefully place the prepared plank on the grill and sprinkle a generous amount of coarse salt over it. Cover the grill and heat the plank for 2 to 3 minutes, or until it has completely dried out.
3
Subsequently, adjust the grill temperature to a medium heat level.
4
Now, take your salmon filets and generously coat them with olive oil. Arrange the salmon on the plank in a neat and orderly fashion.
5
Following that, top each piece of salmon with thinly sliced red onion, a few slices of lemon, and a sprinkle of black peppercorns.
6
Finally, cook the salmon, covered with a lid, for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it has turned opaque and can be easily flaked with a fork.
