Ingredients
- 1 untreated cedar plank
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons herbes de Provence
- 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 2 teaspoons dried tarragon
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 halibut steaks
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Soak the cedar plank in water for approximately 30 minutes to rehydrate it.
2
Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly brush the grates with oil to prevent sticking.
3
Combine butter, lemon juice, herbes de Provence, dill, tarragon, paprika, and garlic in a small bowl to create the marinade.
4
Place the halibut steaks on the cedar plank and sprinkle with pepper to taste; spread half of the marinade evenly onto each steak.
5
Carefully place the cedar plank on the grill, closing the lid to trap heat; cook for 20 minutes.
6
Remove the grill lid and baste the halibut with the remaining marinade; continue grilling until the fish is tender and flakes easily with a fork, approximately 10 minutes.
