Carbonara Pasta
Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 4 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream at room temperature
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 ounces dry fettuccine pasta
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Heat a large skillet over high heat, adding bacon and stirring constantly until it reaches an even golden brown color and becomes crispy. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
2
Combine eggs, cream in a separate bowl and whisk until just combined. Add Parmesan cheese to the egg mixture and set it aside for a moment.
3
Fill a large pot with salted water, bringing the water to a vigorous boil. Cook pasta in boiling water until it reaches an al dente texture, about 8 minutes. Remove the cooked pasta from the pot with a slotted spoon and return it to the same pot.
4
Add softened butter to the pot, stirring until it's fully incorporated with the pasta. Add the cooked bacon and egg-cheese mixture to the pot, stirring gently until the heat of the pasta cooks the eggs. Finally, garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of black pepper before serving.
