- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted

Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).

Toss together the sweet potatoes, onions, olive oil, a hint of amaretto liqueur, fragrant thyme leaves, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a shallow, medium-sized baking dish.

Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the lid or foil and continue baking in the preheated oven for an additional 20 minutes.
