- 6 onions, sliced
- 1 (16 ounce) package brown sugar
- 1 cup water

Position the sausages at the bottom of a substantial electric covered casserole dish. Arrange the apples, then the onions, and finally the brown sugar over the sausages. Pour the water over the ingredients.

Seal the dish and cook the sausages in a preheated oven at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 3 hours. The sausages will appear dark and caramelized when done.
