- Mazola Pure® Cooking Spray
- 4 quarts popped popcorn
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
- 1/2 cup butter OR margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Acquire all necessary components.

Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius). Spray a large, shallow roasting dish with cooking spray before filling it with popcorn. Place the popcorn in the preheated oven while you prepare the caramel sauce.

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, and salt in a heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly until it reaches boiling point.

Immediately cease stirring and continue to boil the mixture for 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken.

Remove the saucepan from the heat source and stir in baking soda and vanilla extract until well incorporated.

Pour the hot caramel sauce over the warmed popcorn, stirring until it's evenly coated throughout.

Return the popcorn to the oven and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every now and then to prevent burning.

Remove the popcorn from the oven and spread it onto a large, greased foil sheet. Allow it to cool completely before breaking it apart into individual pieces and storing them in a tightly sealed container.
