Ingredients
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon meat tenderizer
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 2 pounds beef round steak, cut into thin strips
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary ingredients and materials.
2
Create the marinade by mixing together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar, salt, pepper, meat tenderizer, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a glass bowl.
3
Place the beef strips in a 9x13-inch glass baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with a lid and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
4
Take the beef strips out of the bowl and place them between two sheets of plastic wrap. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound the beef strips to an incredibly thin thickness of 1/8 inch.
5
Arrange the pounded beef strips in a single layer on the trays of your dehydrator and set it to its highest temperature setting. Allow the jerky to dry until it reaches your desired level of doneness, which should take at least 4 hours.
6
Savor your delicious homemade jerky!
