- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups butter, melted
- 2 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 1/2 cups caramel ice cream topping
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

To prepare the baking surface, lightly coat a 15x10-inch jellyroll pan with non-stick cooking spray.

In order to create the crust, combine flour, quick-cooking oats, brown sugar, and baking soda in a large mixing container; stir in melted butter until you achieve a crumbly texture. Fill half of the prepared baking pan with this mixture and bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes.

To prepare the caramel filling, combine caramel topping and remaining half cup of flour in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

Spread apple slices evenly over the baked crust; sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Pour caramel filling over the apple layer; sprinkle crumbled remaining crust mixture over the entire surface. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Allow the bars to cool before cutting them into individual pieces.
