Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup black raisins
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 1/2 cups water
Instructions

Combine the rice, salt, turmeric, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and butter in a saucepan. Add the water and place it over high heat, bringing the mixture to a rolling boil. Once boiling, decrease the heat to a low simmer and cover the saucepan with a lid. Allow it to cook for 20-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and most of the water has been absorbed. Remove from heat and use a fork to gently separate the rice grains. Keep the cooked rice warm until it's time to serve.
