Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped, or more to taste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
- 1 quart fresh shucked oysters, drained and liquid reserved
- 1 cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a moderate heat of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
To prepare the baking dish, lightly coat it with a non-stick cooking spray to prevent food from sticking.
3
Melt butter in a large, heat-conductive pan over medium warmth. Add an onion and garlic; cook and stir until the onions become transparent, taking around 5 minutes. Introduce parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper into the mixture; blend until well combined. Gently incorporate oysters into the mix; cook, stirring frequently, until the edges of the oysters start to curl, approximately 8 minutes. Combine bread crumbs and reserved oyster liquid until fully incorporated. Pour the dressing into the prepared baking dish; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
4
Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, requiring 15 to 20 minutes of cooking time.
