Stuffed Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 1/2 pounds chopped cabbage
  • 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans beef broth
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. At the same time, collect all necessary ingredients.
2
Next, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef in it until it reaches a brown, crumbly state. This should take around 5 to 7 minutes, depending on the heat and the beef's texture. Remove any excess grease from the skillet.
3
In a separate, large bowl, combine the cabbage, tomato sauce, onion, rice, and salt. Mix these ingredients together thoroughly, then add the cooked ground beef to the bowl. Stir until everything is well combined.
4
Pour the mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish, followed by a generous amount of beef broth. Cover the dish with a lid to trap the flavors and heat.
5
Place the covered baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. After this initial period, remove the lid and continue baking until the cabbage is tender and the rice has finished cooking. This should take an additional 20 to 30 minutes, depending on your oven's performance.
6
Once the dish is done, remove it from the oven and serve it hot. Your meal is now ready to be enjoyed!
