Cabbage and Beef Burgers
Ingredients
  • 3 (1 pound) loaves frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 5 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 large head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
1
Firstly, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Next, separate each frozen bread loaf into six portions and shape them into spherical balls. Set these aside for now.
2
In a large saucepan, heat the ground beef over medium heat until it reaches an even brown color. Stir constantly to prevent burning, then remove the excess grease. Add water, shredded cabbage, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and soft. Season with salt and pepper to your liking - I prefer a peppery flavor myself.
3
Drain any excess liquid from the cabbage mixture and set it aside for later use.
4
On a lightly floured surface, roll each dough ball into a 5-inch square shape. Place about three-quarters of a cup of the cabbage mixture in the center, then fold the dough over to enclose it. Press the edges together firmly to seal the pastry.
5
Place these sealed pastries on a baking sheet with the seam side facing downwards.
6
Bake the pastries in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oven and brush with melted butter before serving hot.
