Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/4 cups butter
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, or 200 degrees Celsius, for optimal results.
2
Next, lightly coat an 8-inch tart tin or a 9-inch pie dish with a thin layer of cooking spray to prevent sticking.
3
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, and set it aside for later use.
4
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer until you achieve a smooth consistency.
5
Mix the dry ingredients, including the flour mixture, into the wet ingredients until a cohesive dough forms.
6
Press the dough evenly into the prepared tart tin, and brush it with a small amount of milk.
7
Bake the tart in the preheated oven until it reaches a golden brown color and still retains some softness at its center, approximately 35 minutes.
8
Allow the tart to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before carefully removing it, and then cut it into 16 equal wedges.
9
Finally, transfer the cooled tart to a wire rack for complete cooling and serving.
